What is a Credit Union?
A credit union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative which means it’s built around you. Instead of being owned by stockholders, we’re owned by our members: people just like you who choose to do their financial business here.
When you join a credit union, you don’t just open an account you gain ownership. Each member holds a “share” in the organization, giving you a voice and a stake in how we serve our community.
Our direction is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of fellow members, elected by YOU! That means the people helping shape decisions truly understand the needs of our community because they’re part of it.
Unlike traditional financial institutions that focus on generating profits for shareholders, our focus simple: serving our members. Earnings are reinvested back into better rates, lower fees, and improved services, so you benefit directly.
At the end of the day, a credit union is more than a place to bank it’s a place where people come first.
