Oahe Federal Credit Union is proud to support River Cities Cornhole as they launch an exciting fundraising campaign to bring permanent lighting to the Devine Park cornhole courts in Pierre.

River Cities Cornhole has grown rapidly in recent years, drawing players of all ages to its popular Monday Night Cornhole league. However, shorter daylight hours during the fall season have forced games to end earlier than expected, cutting into the fun for participants and spectators alike. With the addition of new court lighting, the group hopes to extend playing time and keep the community tossing bags well into the evening.

To help make this project a reality, River Cities Cornhole has set up multiple donation options for community members who want to contribute.

Supporters can donate via:

Oahe Federal Credit Union is proud to announce a generous $10,000 donation to the Oahe Hockey Association to support major renovations and improvements at the Ice Barn right here in Pierre. This contribution reflects our ongoing commitment to investing in the programs, facilities, and organizations that make our community stronger.

The Oahe Hockey Association has been a cornerstone for youth and families across central South Dakota, offering a place where players can learn new skills, build confidence, and create lifelong memories. As the program continues to grow, so does the need for updated and expanded facilities that can support its success.

Our donation will help kick off several exciting upgrades at the Ice Barn, including:

Construction of brand-new locker rooms, giving players dedicated space to gear up, store equipment, and build team camaraderie—something the facility currently does not have.
A new off-ice training center designed to help athletes develop strength, agility, and conditioning year-round.
New scoreboards to enhance game-day energy and improve the experience for both players and spectators.
Parking lot improvements to make visiting the rink safer and more accessible for families and fans.
Enhancements to the warming room and concession stands, creating a more comfortable and enjoyable space for everyone who walks through the doors.

At Oahe Federal Credit Union, we believe strong communities are built through teamwork, opportunity, and shared experiences. We are honored to support the Oahe Hockey Association in its mission to provide a positive, inclusive environment for local youth—both on and off the ice.

We look forward to seeing these improvements take shape and to watching the next generation of skaters, players, and fans grow in a facility that reflects the passion and pride of our community.

SecurLOCK Equip App Is Being Upgraded to Card Suite Lite

SecurLOCK Equip app will be upgraded with Card Suite Lite on October 14.

Here’s what you need to know:

The first time you log into the new Card Suite Lite app using your existing SecurLOCK username, you’ll go through a quick validation process to confirm your identity and set up a new password.

Once logged in, please review and validate your Card Controls and Alerts. If needed, you can re-establish new ones.

For the first 90 days after the upgrade, your existing SecurLOCK Equip controls will remain active — even if you haven’t yet set your new password. After 90 days, you’ll need to re-register your card and set new controls and notifications.

Registration changes:

With SecurLOCK Equip, multiple users could register the same card (PAN).

With Card Suite Lite, only one primary cardholder can register a card, but they can share it with other users through the app.

During the upgrade period, no card controls will be applied to transactions, but rest assured — all transactions will continue to be monitored through our back-end fraud protection systems.

We encourage all members to download Card Suite Lite once it’s available on October 14 to continue managing and protecting your cards.

Protect Your Credit Union – Stand Up Against Big Bank Lobbyists!

Powerful bank lobbyists in Washington, D.C. are working to eliminate the tax-exempt status of credit unions, putting affordable financial services at risk for millions of Americans. Unlike big banks, credit unions operate as not-for-profit cooperatives, dedicated to serving members—not generating profits for shareholders.

If this exemption is removed, the impact will be significant:

Higher Loan Rates – Borrowing could become more expensive for families and small businesses.
Lower Savings Returns – Members may see reduced earnings on their savings accounts.
Increased Fees – Credit unions may be forced to introduce or raise fees, making banking more costly.

Now is the time to stand up and protect the credit union difference!

Why Credit Unions Are Tax-Exempt

At Oahe Federal Credit Union, we exist to serve our members—not to generate profits for shareholders. Credit unions were founded to provide fair and accessible financial services to everyday people, especially those who may not have access to traditional banking.

Our tax-exempt status allows us to reinvest earnings directly into our members and communities through:

Better Interest Rates – Higher rates on savings, lower rates on loans—our profits go back to you.
Lower Fees – As a not-for-profit, we don’t need to maximize profits, which means fewer and lower fees.
Community Investment – We support local initiatives, financial education, small businesses, and underserved communities, helping to build a stronger local economy.

This structure ensures that profits stay within the community, fostering financial well-being and economic growth—rather than benefiting Wall Street investors.

Why Now? Congress Needs to Hear From Us!

Right now, big bank lobbyists are working hard to strip credit unions of their tax exemption, putting the benefits we provide at risk. Oahe FCU is standing with America’s Credit Unions to fight back, but we need your help!
